<div><strong>Ad van Eerd</strong> speelde van 1927 t/m 1931 in het eerste elftal van PSV. In zijn tweede seizoen wordt Van Eerd aanvoerder, en hij wordt dat seizoen (1928-1929) met PSV voor de allereerste keer kampioen van Nederland.

<div><strong>Verzetsheld</strong>
</div>
<div>Tijdens de tweede Wereldoorlog laat Van Eerd zich van een heel andere kant zien. Hij helpt Joden aan onderduikadressen, verbergt een aantal Joden op zijn eigen zolder en is lid van de PAN, een verzetsorganisatie in Eindhoven. Op de dag van de bevrijding van Eindhoven arresteert Van Eerd onder meer een zeer gehate NSB'er in Eindhoven. Na de oorlog ontvangt Van Eerd een Yad Vashem-onderscheiding voor zijn hulp aan Joden tijdens de oorlog.

<div><strong>Graf op nominatie geruimd te worden</strong>

<div>In 1990 overlijdt Van Eerd; hij is begraven in Den Bosch. De grafrechten op zijn graf waren echter al in 2020 verlopen en dus stond zijn graf op de nominatie om geruimd te worden. Dankzij deze crowdfundingsactie is dit voorkomen en zijn de grafrechten voor de komende twintig jaar veiliggesteld.

<div><strong>PSV in de Tweede Wereldoorlog</strong>
</div>
<div>Deze crowdfundingsactie komt voort uit het project <a href="https://www.psvinwo2.nl" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">PSV tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog</a>. Het <a href="https://www.walburgpers.nl/nl/book/9789464565096/psv-tijdens-de-tweede-wereldoorlog" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">bijbehorende boek</a> is in juli 2025 verschenen. Daarin natuurlijk ruime aandacht voor de verzetsdaden van dit PSV-icoon.

<div>Uiteraard worden donateurs op de hoogte gehouden van de vorderingen via de social mediakanalen van dit project. Mocht er geld overblijven na het herstellen van dit graf, dan zal dit gebruikt worden voor onderhoud aan diverse andere (oorlogs)graven van PSV'ers en het regelmatig leggen van bloemen.
