Robert's Recovery

Donation protected
Hello,

I want to Thank everyone again who has donated and been praying for Robert during the past week. Go Fund Me has asked me to be more transparent on how I came to create the Go Fund Me Page for Roberts Recovery.

My name is Bill Mottola, I am a Foreman for Flatiron Inc. I work with Robert Craig along with his Brother Joe Craig on major construction projects throughout Southern Ca. Many of the projects include building bridges and improving freeways between Los Angeles and San Diego. Most of the work is during night hours as we end up closing the freeway down to one or two lanes on most occasions. it is not unusual to have people fall asleep at the wheel or be driving under the influence as they are driving by our construction closures. This is unfortunately what happened to Robert one week ago tonight. When I found out Thursday morning, it did not hit me right away when my brother Jack (Superintendent at Flatiron) told me, but then when I received a text message from Joe, Roberts brother and read how bad he was, I had to pull over off the road as I started to lose it emotionally. I called my daughter Amanda who I knew would answer, so I could talk with someone. The next day I knew I had to help with whatever I could do, so I called Joe and asked him if he or anyone in his family would mine if I put a Go Fund Me page together for Roberts Recovery. I know how it is when you are disabled and not getting a paycheck in order to pay rent, mortgage, bills etc... And disability does not kick in right away, you lose the first week right off the bat, and then you really don’t see a dime for at least a month. As the Page started getting donations, the administrators at Go Fund Me emailed me and notified that I had to choose a person that would be the one who would be able to withdraw funds when needed. My first phone call was to Joe to ask who should be in charge of the account, and it clearly made sense based on the fact that Robert was currently in a medically induced coma to use Joe Craig as the primary on the account. Joe and his entire family including his Mother Linda and sister Heather and other family members are at the hospital daily with Robert during his recovery.

For everyone who knows Robert and has been sending their love and prayers, the Craig family appreciates you. For those of you who do not know Robert, on Wednesday night in the wee hours of June 15th, while working to help support his family and his two beautiful babies, his entire life was changed in the blink of an eye by a drunk driver who came into the closure of his construction site. Robert was left pinned between two cars which left him with broken femurs, a broken ankle, fractured ribs, a broken clavicle, and major tissue damage to both his legs. He has been in and out of surgery to help repair major damages to both his legs and now has to have more surgery to repair the damage that was done to his chest, and is currently in a medically induced coma. Robert has years of rehabilitation ahead of him and his family is in dire need of help and support. Any donation will be much appreciated and will help in a very big way, while he and his family begin the road to recovery.
