Amani Home Kenya-Children in Need

Donation protected
Greg and I will be going to the Amani home for a week in September 2017 to volunteer and be a contribution to this community. The kids are in desperate need of clothes and food. FOOD is very expensive and though they do have a garden that supplies a portion of what is needed this is their most pressing need. The home also need to replace their van that they use to transport the kids to medical care.
Your monetary donation will contribute directly to buy food, the new van and clothing in Kenya and therefore contributing to their economy.

www.ipeacei.org International Peace Initiatives (IPI) is a Kenya and U.S. based organization that is dedicated to supporting and funding initiatives that mitigate the effects of poverty, disease, discrimination and violence. IPI provides Homes for orphans and vulnerable children, supports African grassroots organizations and community leaders, and provides trainings in peace education and conflict resolution. The IPI tools are education, enterprise and empowerment. The Amani home is part of their initiatives. Rather than an orphanage, the Amani Homes are a community’s effort to keep their own children home in the community where they grew up, which preserves a child’s network of support. “Amani” means “peace” in Swahili. These are community-based homes, which represent a new way of thinking about orphans.
