Act II: Ten Years in the Making - IVF - Miracles can Happen!
I have a love story I want to share with you all. Once upon a time, many moons ago, a boy met his girl, they fell in love. Then he asked her to be his one true love forever and ever, and they got married! I don’t think I have ever witnessed a more pure or kinder love than what I see between them. They share a love of animals, their many nieces and nephews, reading, camping, theatre, and even share their birthday (though they are two years apart). They are blessed to have found each other and possess that kind of love many of us hope for, and so few find. They have a love that is so inspiring, the only thing that could possibly make it more perfect, is the gift of a child.
My name is Tami, please allow me to introduce to you Carl and Lori. Lori has been one of the biggest blessings in my life. She is a woman that inspires those around her in such a way they are convinced there is nothing they cannot accomplish. She is a kindergarten teacher, a volunteer at the local community theater as the co-mentor/ acting coach for the elite teenage acting troupe, an amazing and selfless friend, sister, daughter, aunt, and wife. Every new school year she spends countless hours preparing her classroom and her heart to welcome all the new kinder babies into her arms. She does the same for the teens she mentors at the theater, who so very lovingly call her “Mom”. And, at the end of every year she is mixed with emotions of accomplishment, pride, happiness, and loss as she tells each one of them goodbye. She has the heart and the arms of a mother, and no greater dream consumes her.
Carl. Carl is the guy who protects his one true love as he carries her heart, he carries it in his heart. He is an amazing son, brother, uncle, friend, and husband. He is slow to anger, quick to laugh, Lori’s hero and best friend. He lets her know she is beautiful, makes her laugh, and he is her rock. He spends the majority of his time right alongside Lori. Loving and caring for her and all the incredible kids they work with. He even helps with theatre classes and events for her students. His favorite is helping with Improv nights. He also volunteers at our community theater and has been seen onstage as well. When he isn’t by Lori’s side he is being a leader amongst his friends. He loves baseball and is always the heart of the team. No matter the outcome, he always plays through and rallies the troops. He too, blesses everyone he knows and interacts with. And with the exception of the kind of wit you both appreciate and roll your eyes at, he is a kind and good soul that yearns for the love of a child of their own. He will be an amazing Daddy. 
They are going on 10 years trying for Baby Evans. Lori has battled severe endometriosis, tubal disease, and diabetes. They have spent countless hours with specialists, in surgeries, at doctor’s appointments, taking medications, going on an insulin pump, and doing everything they could. All those hours have been peppered with hope, dreams, love, and heartache. Through all this, they have never given up on each other or given up their hope for a child.
They recently visited an IVF specialist in Lubbock after being told that despite all their efforts, there was absolutely no way to conceive otherwise. With Lori's age, diabetes, and endometriosis, time is critical. They were informed it will be $10,000 for the process not including medications. Medications will run up to $7000. They took a leap of faith and paid a deposit on a chance for a miracle. Now, they need us, their friends, family, loved ones, and anyone who has a heart to give, to take that leap with them and donate to their fund. ANY amount helps. They have given so much of themselves to the community, other children and their families especially. Let us now give back to them. They continue to pray for God to open the right doors and to close the wrong ones. They believe in miracles. Please help them get one. Please share. We love you all.
