"Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that I would ever have to ask for monitary help from family and friends, let alone perfect stangers" I have created this account for our Brave and Amazing Daughter Tina.
Let me tell you about our daughter Tina! She was diagnosed with breast cancer stage 2 in Feb. 2013. Had a double mastectomy, 14 lymph nodes removed and 5 had cancer. Was a good girl, and did all the Kaiser (praticeing medicine) available to her. Danced into the chemo room, bald, concave chest, made up and beautiful. She made blankets for her chemo buddies, strangers would ask to sit next to her. She became a SHINING STAR.
Then she had radiation (32 daily sessions) which looked like she had been hit with a blow torch. Still did not complain. Then more chemo (total of 25)
In Sept. she complained to Kaiser of stomach pains. She asked for a PET scan and was told she didnt need it that it was probably just indigestion, they gave her Pepcid to take.
The pains kept on coming and finally in November Kaiser gave in to her pleads and gave her a PET scan. I didn`t get my usual happy positive phone call that morning so I knew something was wrong. That afternoon the phone call came. " I have cancer in my liver, I am now stage 4!" what could I say. Her next comment was not "why me" but,"I guess God needs me to be in the chemo room to help others!!!" She ask the nurse about going vegan and she replied "Well it`s to late for that!" She went vegan, cut ALL refined sugar out of her diet and was an insperation to everyone in the veggie stores because she looked radiant.
In March of 2014 Had another PET scan and the tumors were gone, but she finished her chemo treatments. On her birthday, May 13th (which was supposed to be her last chemo) her routine blood test showed signs of something not right. So back she goes begging for another PET scan. Now the cancer is back in her liver. She had been asking for an MRI because she was having blurred vision and headaches and a Dr. out of the Kaiser system told her to get an MRI ASAP. Finally Kaiser gave in again after telling her the PET scan didnt show anything wrong with the brain. Well Kaiser take note the BRAIN METS DO NOT SHOW ON PET SCANS.
Now the cancer has gone to the brain!!!!!
Because of not being able to work for almost a year and a half her savings is depleted. She has had to withdraw all of her retirement which the goverment is taxing not only her early retirement withdrawal but her SS disablity also. Her husband and two children are devastated. Along with all the rest of her family and friends.
There is no money left for all the bills, insurance, car payemt and registration , prescriptions, copays, gasoline, (60 mile round trip for treatments) and veggie are exspensive but worth the cost.
She would like to seek out better treatment but it is so exspensive. She still has her positive attitude but has lost her confidence in the Kaiser system. We are not only asking for your Prayers, but if you could find it in your heart to donate any amount it would be greatly appreciated! She doesn`t deserve the card she was dealt!!
