Husbands Hospital Bills

Donation protected
Please help or share if you can!

My husband and I reside in Guatemala, and I go back and forth to the United States.

Saturday, March 3rd he dropped me off at the airport and I hadn't heard that he got home safe. Days passed by, it is now Monday 3/5 and I was called at 5 am by his cousin letting me know that he is in the hospital.

The bus he was riding home crashed. If you know anything about Guatemala, or foreign countries theirs no driving rules, no speed limits, nothing. Buses speed around curves and roads at 80+ miles an hour.

I was informed that his leg is severely hurt, and surgery is required immediately or he might lose his leg.  I don't have much money as I just spent most of it on my flight home to the United States and planned to stay and make some money here. However, now this emergency has happened and I need help!

Guatemala doesn't do insurance stuff, so the bus company will not pay the medical bills.

We have to pay an ambulance to transport him back to our hometown from Guatemala city. Guatemala city is about 3 hours from where we live, so he has to be transported back so he can be taken care of by his family.

His family in Guatemala is very poor, and they can not afford to help much. I am the only one who can pay the bills.

Please help, even 5 dollars will help! he needs his surgery now and then to be transported to his family can be assured that he is safe and okay.

It is extremely hard and scary being in a different country, and not being able to help or take care of my husband.

I do not know much other than his leg is badly injured, but I am in contact with his family and we are finding out everything we can, so we know how much money is needed to pay the bills.

I will keep everything updated. thank you for reading!

UPDATES:
(Indolfo Leg was amputated on his left side)

Shelly's Friend update: (3/8/18)
Hello everyone, I just spoke to Shelly and she made it back to Guatemala safely! She has been with Indolfo all day and says he’s in good spirits at the moment.

She told me that the amputation is doing well but there are other issues. His right foot/ankle is extremely swollen and has dark purple bruises and is in obvious need of medical treatment and his finger is severely crooked with a few stitches to keep the cut closed.

Due to the conditions of the place, he is in (Tons of patients in one room, dirty walls, staff who just doesn’t seem to do their jobs) and the different injuries he still has it’s urgent that we get him transferred to a private hospital where they can fully treat him.

(Right leg/feet)

Thank you, everyone, for your donations, they are truly helping a man be able to live. And thank you those who have shared, as long as we keep spreading the word we will reach or go beyond our goal!

Shelly (3/9/18):
Hi guys, Shelly here. I have a little time to update it's Friday the 9th husband is doing well considering the situation. His spirits are high. However he needs to be transported to a better hospital immediately, this one is horrible. They do not help him do anything, I showered him, I empty his pee bucket. And yes...they make him pee in a bucket. The list goes on, anyways we need 900Qs for a blood transfusion + 230Qs for medicine plus pain pills for tomorrow. It all adds up, (Q's is Guatemalan money/currency) he needs to get into a private hospital or else his recovery time is going to be longer here, they do not care about him what so ever thank you to all who donated. And shared we appreciate it so much!
Indolfo had a broken finger

(As you can see they don't take care of him well here, he ran out of fluids and it took 1 hour for someone to come and replace it, while the machine kept beeping)

Again, thank you to everyone for your donations!
