Shelter For Acid Burn Victims | Ramadan 2019

Acid violence is an outrageous form of torture which involves throwing corrosive acid at the victim’s face. It is the worst form of domestic violence and is most often directed against women. A growing number of acid attacks occur every year. These attacks leave the victims with disfigured faces, often blinded, and severely traumatized for life. Please join Acid Survivors Foundation in their efforts in creating a better life for the victims by providing them with a safe place to reside. 



Acid Survivors Foundation

Acid Survivors Foundation Pakistan is a non-profit organization which is working to eradicate acid violence and to promote the human rights of acid burn victims. Acid Survivors Foundation has made it their mission to provide acid burn victims with medical treatments, surgery, psychosocial counseling, legal counseling, and advocacy. 

Acid Survivors Foundation is almost entirely funded by donations. Without donations, ASF would not be able to provide acid victims with the help that they need. ASF is a support system and lifeline to many acid burn victims.  


The Shelter

The shelter will function as a nursing and rehabilitation center in the suburbs of Islamabad for Acid Burn victims.  ASF will organize free international surgery camps for acid burn victims, with world class burn experts who operate free of cost. In addition, they will offer emergency and long-term nursing care to the survivors which will include long term stay in case of difficulties at home, and livelihood and other socio-economic activities.

Estimated expenditures:

Land needed: 500 sq yards
Covered area needed: 4000 sq ft on 2 floors
Land price: 2500000 PKR= approx. $22,000 USD
Construction expenses: 3000 PKRx400 sq ft = 12 million PKR which = approx. $100,000 USD

Total: $122,000 USD (approx. $163,997.28 CAD) = $33 USD (approx. $44.36 cad)  per sq ft.
