Hello everyone! Thanks so much for giving me a few minutes of your time.
My sister, Annie, lives in Mexico City and was a victim of a coward acid attack.
On November 12 of this year, a guy and a woman where sitting outside of her house for a while waiting for her to arrive. The woman came close and tried to sell her a homemade dessert. She kindly said no and opened her house. Her dog instantly came out barking loudly at the woman, and she got scared so she backed away a couple inches and, worried that the noise would attract the neighbors attention, she rushed to do what se was there for, she bent down and grabbed a container from a bag she was carrying, opened it, and decided she had the power to ruin my sister's life, so she threw the liquid at her face at a not-so-close distance thanks to Mila (the dog). Annie screamed at the top of her lungs and the guy and the woman ran off. My grandma, my uncle and her, waited 45 mins for the ambulance, and it never arrived, so they took her to the ER.
She’s 23 years old, studies 2 majors at college and has a full time job to pay for them. I’m asking for your help, even the smallest one, to cover surgeries and hospitalizations payments, as her insurance doesn’t cover much because she needs specialty doctors, and her journey is barely starting. She lost her cornea to the acid, so her sight in one eye is gone, and she'll likely need a transplant. She has 2nd and 3rd degree burns, on Monday 3rd we found out the acid didn’t touch her bones but some areas like her forehead and arm are severely damaged. She'll need a skin graft and probably muscle replacement.
My family has had enough to worry about and I live in Florida so I don’t know how else to help her!
Thank you very much for helping us with donations and sharing her story! These kind of attacks shouldn’t happen in this world. Most of them are against women, and no one should live through something like this!

Mi prima hermana, Annie, vive en la Ciudad de México y fue víctima de un cobarde ataque con ácido.
El 12 de noviembre de este año, un hombre y una mujer estuvieron mucho tiempo sentados afuera de su casa esperando a que llegara. La mujer se acercó y trató de venderle un flan y gelatinas. Ella amablemente dijo que no y abrió su casa. Su perro al instante salió ladrándole a la mujer, y se asustó, así que se echó para atrás unos centímetros, con miedo de que los vecinos salieran por el ruido, se apuró a hacer lo que ya había planeado, se agachó y sacó un contenedor de una bolsa que llevaba, la abrió y decidió que tenía el poder de arruinar la vida de mi hermana, así que le arrojó un líquido transparente a la cara a una distancia no tan cercana gracias a Mila (la perra). Annie gritó a todo pulmón y el hombre y la mujer salieron corriendo. Mi abuela, mi tío y ella esperaron 45 minutos a la ambulancia, y nunca llegó, así que la llevaron a la sala de emergencias.
Ella tiene 23 años, estudia 2 carreras en la universidad y tiene un trabajo de tiempo completo para pagarlos. Solicito su ayuda, incluso la más pequeña, para cubrir cirugías y pagos de hospitalizaciones, ya que su seguro no cubre mucho porque necesita médicos especializados y el trayecto apenas comienza. Perdió su córnea, y con ella la vista, y es probable que necesite un trasplante. Tiene quemaduras de 2 y 3 grado. El lunes 3 de diciembre, después de una operación nos hicieron saber que el ácido no penetró hasta el hueso, pero su frente y brazo están muy dañados y necesitará injertos de piel.
Mi familia ya ha tenido suficiente de qué preocuparse y yo vivo en Florida, ¡así que no sé de qué otra manera ayudarla!
