Accepted exchange student

Hello and good afternoon,

My name is Elvis Sekyere Owusu. I am a Ghanaian who has been admitted to Texas Christian University to pursue my masters in Geology with a speciality in Geochemistry to study and understand the mechanism and properties of Biochar. My aim is to help achieve the SDG 4 (clean Water and Sanitation initiative) in order to help my country to become more educated about the alarming rate of illegal mining activities in our communities and the consequences on our natural resources. I am currently a senior high school teacher, who teaches Integrated Science.

I am a member of Triple A Group which seeks to empower young girls on how to collaborate to make advances in their careers and education.

I am also the STEM novation coordinator and the youth secretary for my church at St Matthew Catholic Church in Ghana.

I am seeking financial assistance to aide in paying for the final portion of my SEVIS (visa processing and service fee), and an airline ticket. All my expenses passed that have been paid, either by myself and family, my church or through grants. We are completely tapped out, putting everything we have up for this wonderful opportunity.
