Acadia’s Medical Emergency Fund

We created this go fund me to help our friend Acadia who was physically assaulted while trying to split up a fight on Friday the 11th. After getting punched in the face, they were taken to victoria general hospital and intubated and treated for their injuries. Acadia has a bad concussion, broken nose, multiple fractures to the skull with a brain bleed, and damage to the ear.

Acadia’s rehabilitation time is between 6 months to a year, and will not be able to work during that time.

Acadia lives on a boat, anchored on the gulf islands. We were advised that they should not be going to and from their boat on their dingy because of the resulting head trauma. We are hoping to raise enough money to get her an alternative housing solution, rent, and for general bills/survival on this healing journey. It’s minimum 6 months to a year that Acadia will be unable to live on her boat because of her injuries.

Acadia is in touch with crime support services, but it is still unknown how long that can take and what they are able to assist with. There are immediate things that need funding for Acadias safety and well being.
