Academic Pride is Tiger Pride

One of Aztec School District's commitments is Pride and one way we show it is by displaying our Tiger Pride through branded clothing for sports and other activities. The English Department would like to participate in this new commitment because we feel that Tiger Pride should extend beyond sports and extracurricular activities to include scholarship and academics. However, core subjects do not have a budget or a booster club for fundraising that would allow us to display our Pride in our students and what they do in our classrooms.

We love this concept, and we want to encourage academic pride amongst our students for reading and writing and other scholarly endeavors.

The shirt we've designed specifically highlights one of our most important teaching examples and standards, RL 9-12.1, which teaches students how to use quotes to cite evidence. We believe that the District's commitment to Tiger Pride is a great way to motivate students and we are asking for your support in buying these shirts to help encourage and inspire academic pride alongside the pride we take in our athletes.
