Hello everybody!
Thank you for taking the time to visit my page and read a little about my friend Maryam
Maryam and I have been friends since high school ( more than 20 years) and we stayed friends even though she lives in US and I live in Canada.
Her battle with cancer started in May 2013, when she was diagnosed with stage 3c ovarian cancer. Right after she did full hysterectomy and 6 months chemotherapy. She fought hard and beat cancer. As a cancer survivor she had to do check ups every 6 months until unfortunately from last summer her tumour marker in her blood test started to elevate again, which meant the cancer was back. She did different type of therapies but they did not work.
About one month ago her CA125 blood test, which is an indicator for ovarian cancer, was 213 (the normal range is less than 35), and her doctor changed her medication again. But last week she ended up in emergency after experiencing excruciating pain in her stomach. The CT Scan was done and the news was hard to swallow. The cancer is spreading and spreading fast and her tumour elevator is 500 now. So she needs to start chemotherapy immediately and later on she may need surgery (depending on the result).
Her cancer is spreading and metastasis to all over of her liver, stomach hips and etc. It is stage 3c again.
Unfortunately Maryam lost her job recently and she has no health insurance and since she lives in US the treatment expenses are very high. The thought of paying for her treatment is an additional stress and we all know cancer patients need all their energy fighting the disease.
She is a fighter and she is determent to beat cancer one more time, but she needs our help to do that. Let's lessen her pain and stress by covering her treatment expenses.
All the money will be spent for her treatment and any extras will be donated for cancer research.
