Abundant Love Building Fund

My spiritual family at Abundant Love (www.abundantlovechurch.us) and I (Pastor Anthony Menzel) envision our church serving not only as a gathering place for Christian worship services but also as a multi-purpose community center. Our main purpose will be to maximize the facility’s use for advancing God’s Kingdom by having a Christian daycare, after school program, and summer camp. The church will be a warming center when natural disasters hit, and it will serve as an emergency shelter for the surrounding area when it is dangerous to sleep outside, such as when it is dangerously cold. The church also intends to operate a small Christian store, where books and other items are sold, since there is no Christian bookstore in the immediate area. In addition, part of the second floor will be a caretaker’s apartment. My wife, Maria Menzel, is a Licensed Social Worker with her Masters in Social Work degree. She also intends to open a Christian therapy office at the church in the future.

According to Matthew 22:36-40, the mission of our church is to love God and to love people by helping them achieve their potential. Accordingly, our church is truly a spiritual family. When someone misses a Sunday, that person receives a phone call, text, and/or other communication to ensure that they are fine and to provide them with prayer if necessary. If someone has not been to church, they often receive an in-home visit. If someone ends up in the hospital, they also receive visits. Urgent prayer requests are forwarded to the church’s Leadership Team for immediate coverage. Just about every other month we celebrate birthdays, along with important holidays. For example, on Sunday, April 15th, we had a Resurrection Day dinner, during which we prayed for and sang Happy Birthday to the church attendees with birthdays in February, March, and April. To us, just like to the Lord Jesus, everyone is important and special. I believe that this sense of family is one of the characteristics that makes Abundant Love so special. In fact, I believe that the non-Spanish speaking congregants prefer to attend a predominantly Spanish-speaking church like Abundant Love because of the love of Christ that stems from the church’s dedication to being a true spiritual family.

Mi familia spiritual a Amor Abundante (www.abundantlovechurch.us) y yo (Pastor Anthony Menzel) vemos a nuestra iglesia sirviendo no solo como un lugar para reuniones de adoración cristiana sino también como un centro comunitario con diversos propósitos. Nuestro propósito principal será usar las facilidades al máximo para avanzar el reino de Dios por tener una guardería cristiana, un programa después de escuela, y un campamento veraniego. La iglesia será un centro de refugio cuando hay desastres naturales, y servirá como un albergue de emergencia cuando es un peligro estar afuera, por ejemplo cuando está peligrosamente frio. La iglesia también piensa operar una pequeña tienda cristiana, donde se venden libros y otros artículos porque no hay una librería Cristiana en nuestra área inmediata. Mi esposa, María Menzel, es una Obrera Social Licenciada con una maestría en Trabajo Social. Ella también piensa abrir un consultorio de terapia cristiana en la iglesia en el futuro.

Según Mateo 22.36-40, la misión de nuestra iglesia es amar a Dios por ayudarle a alcanzar su potencial. Por lo tanto, nuestra iglesia es una familia espiritual verdadera. Cuando alguien falta a la iglesia un domingo, esa persona recibe una llamada, un texto, y/u otra comunicación para asegurar que ellos estén bien y para proveerles con oración si sea necesario. Si alguien no ha estado en la iglesia, a menudo reciben una visita a la casa. Si alguien para en el hospital, también recibe visitas. Peticiones urgentes se mandan al Equipo de Liderazgo de la iglesia para cobertura inmediata. Aproximadamente cada dos meses celebramos cumpleaños, junto con importantes días festivos. Por ejemplo, el domingo, el 15 de abril, tuvimos una cena para las Pascuas de Resurrección, durante de la cual oramos por y cantamos “Feliz Cumpleaños” a los hermanos de la iglesia con cumpleaños en febrero, marzo, y abril. Para nosotros, como para El Señor Jesús, toda la gente es importante y especial. Creo que este sentido de familia es una de las características que hace que Amor Abundante sea tan especial. De hecho, creo que asistentes a la iglesia que no hablan español prefieren asistir a una iglesia hispanohablante como Amor Abundante por el amor de Cristo que surge de la dedicación de la iglesia a ser una verdadera familia espiritual.
