GRANDMA PATRICIA NEEDS OUR HELP

Hello everybody!!! My name is Emilia Tosta and I am doing this campaign for my mother Patricia Mier y Teran Montilla. As any Venezuelan, we love our grandmothers with passion. Grandma Patricia has been the center of our joy, and she has brought melodies and happiness not only to the family, but to many of you. She has sung, raising her voice for Venezuela and also for us women, from an optimistic and joyful perspective. Recently she suffered a severe hemorrhagic stroke, with hemiplegia on the right side. She had an urgent neurosurgery done.
She is currently in the Intensive Care Unit of the Cetven Medical Center in Valencia, Carabobo State. She will have to be in this unit for many days, a total of 1 month of hospitalization. Despite her neurological progress in such a short time after having been operated on, the long hospitalization time is necessary because she is presenting motor difficulties and she must stabilize. In addition she is also presenting respiratory deficit and needed endotracheal intubation and mechanical ventilation for several days. Both her recovery and stabilization require many days of intensive care, which represents a significant sum of expenses.
The beloved grandmother Patricia is showing great strength, because she has not given up, she continues to fight to be able to keep on singing and enlightening us, every day she shows more desire to live and is eager to recover and breathe normally. Hopefully soon she will be able to mobilize her right side, to dance with us with joy and gladness. Up until today May 6th we have spent over US$20thousand dollars. We estimate that per week the expenses will be between 8 to 10thousand dollars, which will be so for several months.
All help is help, and prayers are the greatest force. The family appreciates your prayers for her speedy recovery. As well as your help and contribution with the magnitude of the medical expenses that have been happening since her admission, surgical intervention, medicines and supplies, and now in this intensive phase of therapy and care, and examinations. Hola a todos!!! Mi nombre es Emilia Tosta y estoy haciendo esta campaña por mi mamá Patricia Mier y Teran Montilla. Como buen Venezolano, amamos a nuestras abuelas con pasión. La abuela Patricia ha sido el centro de nuestro gozo, y ha brindado melodías y alegrías no sólo a la familia, sino a muchos de ustedes. Ha cantado a lo criollo alzando la voz por Venezuela y también por nosotras las mujeres, desde un punto de vista humano, desde un punto de vista feliz y alegre. En estos días sufrió un ACV hemorrágico severo, con hemiplegia en el lado derecho. Le hicieron de manera urgente una neurocirugía.
Se encuentra dentro de la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos del Centro Médico Cetven en Valencia, Estado Carabobo. Deberá estar en dicha unidad durante muchos días, un total de 1 mes de hospitalización. A pesar de sus progresos neurológicos en tan poco tiempo de haber sido intervenida, el tiempo de hospitalización tan largo es necesario porque está presentando dificultad motora y debe estabilizarse. Además de estar también presentando déficit respiratorio y necesitó de una intubación endotraqueal y ventilación mecánica durante varios días. Tanto su recuperación como su estabilización requieren de esa cantidad de días de cuidados intensivos, lo cual la hacen una carga económica importante.
La amada abuela Patricia está demostrando una gran fuerza, pues no se ha rendido, sigue luchando para poder seguir cantándonos e iluminándonos, cada día demuestra más ganas de vivir y con ansias de recuperarse para respirar normalmente, y movilizar su lado derecho, para bailar con nosotros de gozo y alegría. Hasta hoy, Jueves 6 de Mayo hemos gastado más de US$20mil dólares. Estimamos que semanal los gastos son entre 8 a 10mil dólares y será así por varios meses.
Toda ayuda es ayuda, y las oraciones son la fuerza más grande. La familia agradece sus oraciones para su pronta recuperación. Así como también agradecemos su ayuda y contribución con la magnitud de los gastos médicos que se han ido sumando durante su ingreso, intervención quirúrgica, medicinas e insumos, y ahora en esta fase intensiva de terapia y cuidados, y exámenes.
