Abraham's Funeral

Donation protected
Abraham is a beautiful 18 month old. Born with an undiagnosed heart defect, Abraham was forced to fight the moment he was born. Mommy and daddy found out about his heart defect when he was 10 weeks old. Unfortunately, Doctors weren't able to repair his heart and he was placed on the national heart transplant list. It was months of tears and fear of the unknown, but the heart came just in time to save his life. After transplant they were finally able to take their miracle home. But in order to understand this story you have to understand this: having a heart transplant isn't a cure. In order to have ones body not reject an organ, doctors’ suppress the immune system. In other words, people who have transplants do not have an immune system like you and I. It is harder for them to fight any type of infection or virus. Now, after taking him home Abraham was in and out of the hospital. He was pooping blood for months are doctors diagnosed him with something called c-diff. Then EBV Virus. Doctors did everything they could to treat him but nothing was working and they knew it was something else.  Test after test, they were finally able to explain why this relatively healthy boy was now so sick. He was diagnosed with cancer. The cancer is called multiple myeloma. It is a form of Posttransplant lymphoproliferative disease (PTLD). Along with the cancer he has multiple infections. He is dealing with a lot. He is in critical condition in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and has been there for two months. He is on a great deal of support and doctors have informed them that he isn't going to make it because he is fighting too much. Parents have not lost hope. We’re holding on to a miracle. Mom doesn't work because her only job is to take care of Abraham, as he was trached while waiting for a heart and went home on a ventilator. Daddy is the only one working but as Abraham has gotten worse, dad does not want to leave his side in fear of the worst. This wonderful family has three other girls. They live at the hospital and it is getting so hard for them economically. They have to pay out of pocket for all their meals and drinks. They're from Victorville, CA and daddy has to drive them to and from to visit their bother. Money is the last thing they need to worry about. Please help this wonderful family in ANYWAY you can.
