The ABQ Coordinated Resource Guide is a free, beta stage, resource system available at abqcrg.org. This system takes resource information and makes it navigation friendly for case managers and clients alike. It is the most comprehensive resource site for housing and services in the Albuquerque area. It has client empowering features unlike any other guide that makes it cater to guidance, prioritized information and clearly defined resource types. In one year the site had the most rapid growth (~5000 visits last month) and capture of web traffic compared to other area online resources websites. It was featured on KOB4 recently and is posted on the City of Albuquerque website .
Kevin Arthun continues to develop the guide from his years of experience working in homeless services as a case manager and housing navigator. The system is powerful because it takes an insider's knowledge and perspective of client's needs and resources and organizes them on a platform that is most relevant to the client and navigator. The guide is continually updated with feedback from service providers that are the subject matter experts in their respective areas of service.
It utilizes area wide mapping of services by resource type .
Since housing navigation is such an priority need in our community housing navigation tools are continually being developed and integrated into the website.
Navigation videos from skilled navigators in the community have been created and will be an integral part of the project. For example this video (top of page) is used to guide clients through the confusing process of obtaining an ID .
The site will also host a platform for case managers and service providers to share resources with each other.
The funds will immediately upgrade the current web platform. We hope to start as soon as we get about $5000. The upgraded site will have advanced search, filter and sort functions, training materials for evidence based - best practice client interaction skills, guidance videos, mobile functionality, a case management sharing platform, area wide mapping by topic that is dynamically updated, advanced housing navigation tools and more! All of these upgrades will be driven by ongoing feedback from those who use it most. This enhanced functionality will dramatically increase our community's ability to reduce homelessness, meet many different service needs and help the capacity of navigators to increase their skills. The resource system is part of a larger solution to solve homelessness with a system perspective.
