Abilene Community Fridge Project

Hi there! We're the Abilene Community Fridge project, and our goal is to help address the problem of food insecurity within our community. More folks than ever are out of work or strapped for cash due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and our goal is to provide safe, nonjudgmental access to fresh, healthy food to ANYONE and EVERYONE. We exist simply to provide community-led food access by seeking solidarity with our friends and neighbors. Give what you can, take what you need! 

We are currently looking for fridge donations and local storefronts willing to host a fridge. Our ultimate goal is to have a network of several fridge locations all over Abilene! The money from this GoFundMe campaign will go to funding 1) restocks of the fridge(s) as needed, 2) monthly electricity costs for the fridge(s), 3) paying local artists to paint fun, eye-catching murals on the fridge(s). and 4) any other costs (maintenance, shelter-building, etc.) that may come up in pursuit of a well-functioning Abilene Community Fridge network!
