Abigail's LWS Tuition Until June

On October 19, 2015, Abigail was diagnosed at the Seattle Children’s Autism Center as having Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyper Disorder (ADHD). At that time, she had been exhibiting very aggressive, scary, and odd behaviors: screaming and moaning, throwing herself on the ground, and attacking me with objects.

At the same time, my other daughter, Adeline, was exhibiting massive fatigue, had been diagnosed with a gross motor delay, and was screaming in pain from her waist down, especially in her ankles. Seattle Children’s had no explanation for Adeline’s pain, and blood tests only revealed general inflammation, with no answers to the root cause.

Also, at the same time, my infant son, Jeffrey Jr., began to break out from what appeared to be a wheat allergy and was getting reoccurring staph infections from this allergy. My husband, Jeff, began to have health problems, and due to trying to manage all these health issues at once, I began to exhibit signs of what was looking like Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis (RRMS), with overall fatigue, pain in my legs that eventually spread to my arms, difficulty getting up and down the stairs, and an eventual diagnosis of the reactivation of the Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV), which is the root cause of RRMS.

I was a homeschooling mom at this time, as I couldn’t possibly imagine sending my children to school with all these mental and physical health issues. To be able to afford me staying home with the children, we sold our house in Seattle and moved to Lynnwood.  We changed our diets to eating mostly fruits and vegetables, experimenting with paleo, vegan, and GAPS diets along the way.  We then utilized behavior therapy at Seattle Children’s Autism Center, added different supplements to each person’s diet, utilized essential oils, and with the help of many amazing people, changed our whole way of life to start a journey of healing.

While many of my own interventions, as well as the support and aid of many wonderful others, helped Abigail become a “normal” functioning person, there was one piece I could not do on my own, and that was the social interaction with peers of the same age all day long. For this reason, we started to tour schools for Abigail to attend first grade.

In this search, we stumbled upon Living Wisdom School (LWS).  The moment I walked in, I knew this was where Abigail needed to go to school.  It had everything she needed to excel, and it represented everything we believe in and already do, or strive to do, at home.  I just had to send her!

Knowing we did not have the extra income to support Abigail attending this school, my husband and I decided to enroll Abigail anyhow in mid-November 2017. This was such a good decision, because Abigail blossomed in ways we never imagined.  LWS was the last piece of the autism curing puzzle for Abigail, which we were missing and could not replicate ourselves. It has been an absolutely unique environment: extremely kind and compassionate.

Unfortunately, between all of our bills, supplements, foods, therapies, etc., we are currently unable to sustain paying for Abigail’s tuition of just about $1250 per month.  We have given notice to return to homeschooling by February 28, unless a miracle happens and we come up with a way to fund Abigail’s tuition.

With that said, our goal is to raise $5000 to keep Abigail at LWS until June to complete the last part of her healing process and help her move past and remove her ASD and ADHD diagnosis.  We hope you will support her staying at LWS until at least the end of the year!
