Abi Ruth's Sweet Heart

During an anatomy scan this fall, Blair and Lauren Robinson discovered that their sweet baby girl, Abi Ruth, due January 2018, was diagnosed with a severe heart defect known as Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS).
This congenital condition develops during pregnacy, as the left side of the heart does not form correctly which adversely affects the blood flow through the heart.
Lauren is scheduled to deliver by c-section on January 8th. Multiple surgeries are required for Abi Ruth to increase blood circulation to the body and bypass the poorly functioning left side of the heart. As a result, her first surgery (the Norwood procedure) is expected within the first week of life, followed by lifesaving heart surgeries at 6 months and 3 years.
