Abbey's Medical treatments

The love we have for our pets is always very hard to explain to someone else. They’re like our kids. They are family members. They mean so much to us and become part of who we are. I remember when the only dog I ever had got sick. I was too young to do anything real about it and my parents didn’t have a lot of options either, and so one day, he disappeared from my life, leaving me with amazing and loving memories, but also leaving a void in my heart. I wish I could have done more. I wish I had had more options.

When I first met Stephanie Brais, one of the first things I said about myself was that I had two kids, a 2 year old and a 5 year old boy. She also said she had two kids, Abbey and Lincoln. She went on about how they brought pure joy in her life, and how she loved them so much, and then we had a full 20 minutes conversation about our kids before she clarified that she was talking about her dogs. I wasn’t really surprised, but I remember thinking I would get along with her just fine.

Steph and her husband Kris care for their dogs, Abbey and Lincoln (Linky) like others care for their children. I know one day they will be amazing parents, for many reasons, and one of them is how much love and care they give to Abbey and Linky.

But now, life threw a curveball at Abbey and her family. Abbey has been very sick for a while now. She has an infection that has been preventing her from eating for days and her life is now threatened. Treatments are available but at great costs.  These things are happening as you are reading these lines. Her parents will do everything they can to get her healthy, but they need help soon. Thankfully, there are now more options to help them.

You may not know Abbey, but what you do know, is that she is someone’s companion, confidant, little comedian, joy bringer, arugula eater, that she means the world to her family, and that if you were in a similar situation, you would do anything that could possibly be done to get your companion healthy, and you would be immensely grateful for any support from people around you.

That is why I made this page and why I am asking you guys for your support. Anything you can give will help giving Abbey a chance to spend more time with her family, doing what she has always done best, bringing joy to people around her.
