Abbey Forrest Tributes

As you may or may not know my beautiful angel Abbey was tragically taken two months ago in a car crash. 

Abbey was one month away from her 12th birthday, she was at the stepping stone of forging her own identity in this world. A bright future ahead and was the successful recipient of four major boarding school scholarships and proving herself to be quite a young leader in her community.

The loss of Abbey has changed the contours of my journey and her siblings Tom and Lilli's journey.  

The financial impact this has left on us as a family has been substantial and continues to take it's toll.

Through grief and sorrow it has been challenging to maintain work commitments and as a single mother with a mortgage, brings about the challenges of supporting my small family and keeping their spirits up through this tragic time.

Something I would really love to do through any financial support is to also help fill the void within the community, particularly the young people and hold some special events in remembrance of their fun loving friend.

Three days after Abbey's life was taken there were two fake GoGetFunding pages created.  This added to the heartache and caused unnecessary stress as someone tried to cash in on the tragedy.  This has also had a lot of media attention and left the family feeling like it was not the right time to start a genuine support fund.

In her precious life that she experienced, Abbey showed in her a life, a person of exceptional strength in her determination to succeed and portrayed a person who had an energetic, free spirit to live and experience the world around her. 

Abbey has touched peoples lives through her radiant smiles and her friendly outgoing and inquisitive nature that has allowed her presence to be recognised, acknowledged and appreciated by people who have met her on her short journey on earth.

 I have been fortunate to have so much support from the community and to give Abbey a beautiful farewell.  This further support means myself and Tom in particular, can adjust to the contours of this new beginning that we did not ask for. 

Through the pain and sorrow we can continue to realise that we have been so blessed to have held, loved and experienced a wonderful daughter and sister that left an amazing impression on peoples lives.
