Abandoned sled dogs of 58 mile

Tuesday, September 19th Lynnette Dunn had posted pictures of what she thought was a single dog abandoned and in distress at mile 58 of the Steese hwy. Little did we know there were 5 more ( that we know of )and some in worse shape than others. Neva Mills acted immediately and while looking for the male came across a female that was in bad shape, she rushed her to the vet, unfortanetly she did not make it.... So the dog wouldn't be discarded, Neva took her home and buried her in her yard.
Two others were picked up and taken to Animal control and are awaiting adoption by Neva possibly on Monday. Sarge, who is pictured here now has a new home with Neva and probaby has never been happier. There are still 2 that we are aware of loose in the area and all 3, Neva Mills, Michael McGhie and Jodi Bailey have been working tirelessly spending hours trying to earn these dogs trust, setting traps in hopes of saving them.
Neva had lost all her pets in a house fire in 2005 and has had one dog since then that had passed in March. Neva being the animal lover she is has opened her heart and her home and has expressed how much she wants this group of dogs and is willing to take them as a pack. As pet owners we all know the costs that come with having pets, let alone a group of 5 that are already suffering a bad start. I want it to be clear that she hasn't asked for help. I am asking you as my freind or family member to please, grab a card and give 5.00, 10.00 anything will help.
All funds will go directly to an acct for Neva and to the adoption, spaying, neutering of these pets.
Fingers crossed we bring them all home safely and Thank you.
