Abandoned dogs last hope for survival!!!

Hi everyone,

We have a special story to share about a dog who has stolen our hearts here in Guadeloupe. Lostie first showed up on our doorstep with a long blue rope attached to him. We initially thought he might belong to someone, but he kept coming back to our apartment, and it quickly became clear that Lostie was in need of a home.

We’re currently in Guadeloupe working on the show Death in Paradise, and while we’ve been able to care for Lostie—taking him to the beach, feeding him, and providing temporary shelter—our time here is limited. When we leave, there will be no one to look after him. There are no actual shelters in Guadeloupe; all dogs are rescued by volunteer foster homes, and there are currently none available. If we turn him over to the authorities, we fear Lostie might be put to sleep.

Lostie hasn’t been microchipped, and his past is unknown, but his future doesn’t have to be uncertain. He is the most well-behaved dog, with a gentle and caring nature. He just wants a loving family of his own, and not to live in fear of being abandoned wherever he goes. He instantly bonded with us, never leaving our side, and while we are here, we’re able to provide him with food and care. But we need your help to bring him to the UK, where we can give him a forever home and ensure he gets the love he deserves.

Why We Need Your Help: We’re unsure of the exact costs yet, but Lostie will need a full health check, any required treatment, vaccinations, microchipping, and transport to the UK. Unfortunately, these costs are beyond what we can cover on our own. With your help, we can give Lostie a chance at a new life.

How the Funds Will Be Used:

  • Veterinary health check
  • Vaccinations
  • Any necessary treatment
  • Microchipping and paperwork
  • Travel and transport to the UK

Time Is Running Out...
We only have two options: to get Lostie to the family that wants him in the UK or to send him to the local authorities. If we hand him over to the police, Lostie will have six days to be claimed (though he has been homeless for over a month, so this is unlikely), or he will be put to sleep.

Immediate Next Steps: We’re aiming to take Lostie to the vet tomorrow, 20/09/24, to get all the relevant health checks and vaccines needed for his transport to the UK.

Please Help Us Give Lostie a New Life! We’re asking for any donations, big or small, to help us cover the costs of getting Lostie the care and transport he needs to start fresh in the UK. Every little bit will make a difference in securing a better future for this loving dog. Sharing this page with others would also be incredibly helpful.

Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity,

Olivia & Katie
