ABANDONED ARKANSAS CHOWS

Donation protected
FIVE ABANDONED CHOWS IN ARKANSAS, left in a fenced yard by their owner along with 15 other dogs. AC took the other dogs into their custody and left the chows since they had to be trapped.  We are thinking they have been there from four months to a year.  Neighbors have been feeding these dogs by throwing bags of Ole Roy over the fence.  The yard has never been mowed and is nothing but thickets, and rats are everywhere.  The owner was a hoarder of "stuff" and animals.  The house is crammed full.  The owner moved to another location and started getting dogs again.  Initially there were five chows, but the female escaped the yard and was shot in the neighborhood and killed.  The others are scared, matted, cold and wet.  Thanks to the Humane Society of the Delta (which is 2 hrs. from this home) and Rebecca Scarbrough who took the time and patience to trap each and every chow and get them to the shelter.  The shelter is one of the poorest in the country, but still cared enough to help these chows.  They have over 300 dogs in their care, and that is why it is critical to find rescue for all of these chows, and help is needed to attract a chow rescue that can work with them and get them into loving homes, but we all know this can cost a lot of money, especially for four.  There is also another chow mix that has been at this shelter for two years!!  They are asking for help in getting her rescue or adopter, too, so I am adding her into this fundraiser in hopes she can be saved.  At this time of year everyone is strapped from the holidays, but if you can find just $5 to donate, it goes a long way.  We need to get the abandoned chows out of the shelter and across state lines before charges of neglect and cruelty are filed against their owner so that they will not languish in this shelter as evidence awaiting a trial, which can take a very long time, and by then the hopes of rehabilitating these chows will be much harder.  Thank you to all who have donated so far.  I know the chow community will help all of these chows!  Please share.  I will continue to post updates as I get them.
