Abaco Relief: Bahamas Strong

On September 1, 2019, Dorian, a category 5 hurricane stalled over the Bahamas for a couple days, completely devastating some islands in Abaco and leaving others hanging on by a thread.
Whitney Melton Laney, the founder if this Go Fund Me began working with Air Unlimited, Regal Marine, Florida Paints, HeadKnowles (largest non-profit in the Bahamas), Samaritans Purse, Medic Corp, the Dutch Navy and many other NGO's to run logistics and get the initial aid into the country. With in a few days, she was on the ground working with the survivors to help establish needs and cultivate supplies chains to get food, water and survival supplies directly into the hands of the people. She also worked to rescue people in dire need of evacuating the devastated islands.
As a month has passed since the Bahamas saw Dorians wrath, there are ever changing new needs as we continue to aid in relief. Many of which can be solved through financial means, as many individuals and organizations have returned back to normal, we are still in dire need to help the Bahamas. The cost of fuel on planes to bring supplies, generators to establish power, mechanical parts to fix helicopters and bulldozers/cars on the ground, cost of equipment, even food as supplies of it runs out needs to be replenished. Having funds available to take care of these needs as they arise are crucial to our success in the months ahead.
Please do not forget about the Bahamas. It may not be in the news everyday or top of mind anymore. But it very much is for the people still living in rubble. Or separated from their family for the first time in their life since being evacuated who desperately want to get home to their community and try to rebuild. Your initial response of love, support and donations are still very much needed today!!
