ABA Therapy for my 4 year old son with autism
My son “Mikael” was diagnosed with autism at 2 years old and requires 40 hours of ABA therapy on a weekly basis to get him to his full potential in brain development and as functioning and independent as possible.
I was surprised and let down when I discovered the government support is pending waiting lists that can last years while 2-5 years old are the most critical and the optimal time for brain development. He’s now 4 and still on the wait list in Quebec and at this rate he will be almost 5 when he gets in the program of the government subsidized ABA which only runs till the kid is 5!
As a single mom I’ve been working 2 jobs and pilingdebt to make sure he gets the best shot at life and paying for private ABA for only 5-6 hours a week. Because it’s 50$ per hour.
the fund would cover a year of 10-15hours/weekly ofABA in his last year of development milestone and last chance at a fair shot in life since I’m maxed out and can’t afford it.
The professionals say he has a lot of potential but needs the support to get it out, he’s now verbal andsocializing and a happy healthy kid! And I want himto be independent, potty trained, ready for school and have a great life! So please help Mikael to fulfill his full potential.
