Help me and my family to survive

Donation protected

I am Ayman Matar. I live in Gaza and was born there.

I spent all my life in this city, which was beautiful.

I was very ambitious. I used to work as a product and food photographer with my phone, and as a designer.

I was and nothing remained as it was. Everything was different since October 7.
We saw nothing but death. Blood, body parts, loss and heartbreak, death haunts us every day.

I have been suffering from a kidney stone for a year, and I did not receive any treatment. With eating canned food and unhealthy water, the pain and the size of the stone began to increase. Recently, a lipoma appeared below my rib cage, but the operation was postponed until after the war.

We lived in northern Gaza, then we were displaced from Gaza on October 13th after the occupation tanks approached our house and death became closer than ever, and my father remained there.

I lost my room and large parts of my house, my personal laptop that contains all my work samples and experiences, my photography equipment, it was simple but it meant a lot to me..

Then we were displaced to Khan Yunis and stayed for a month, after the threat of occupation of Khan Yunis, especially the area in which we were displaced.

After we were displaced from the threatened area in Khan Yunis, we went to a school in Khan Yunis and spent more than a month there. We lived through all kinds of suffering that cannot be written or explained.

Then we went to Rafah and lived inside a closed place in the middle of the market, with no bathroom, no door, and no means of life.

And now we are in Mawasi Khan Yunis, in a nylon tent, in the heat and lizards and snakes and everything is dangerous. It cannot be described, it is not possible to talk about it, but what we can tell you is that we are lying when we say that we are fine

Now the occupation threatens Rafah with ground entry and annihilation of all those in it, and we no longer have any other place.
We have no solution other than travel, and travel is currently at very high amounts, approximately $5,000 per person.

We live in suffering that is indistinguishable from death. There is no cooking gas, electricity, or any other means of life as you see in the media, and in reality the suffering is much greater.

What saddens me is that we have become like beggars, asking for money and help in order to survive. We did not expect that one day we would reach the situation we are living in. When will we escape from the death that follows us everywhere, if we survive..

I am very sorry for becoming almost a beggar.
