Aaron’s Army:  Battle Two

As many of Aaron’s supporters know, Aaron is a 16 year old boy, who has been through a major battle with brain cancer.  With the support of many of you, he got through brain surgery on May 18, 2018 which was followed by 50 days of intensive brain tumor radiation at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas this past summer.  My 12 yr old son, Carson, and I were with Aaron through all of this. But when we returned to Flint in August, our world was turned upside down when my wife of 19 years decided to leave the family. Needless to say, I was blindsided and the boys were devastated.  Aaron hardly needs another trauma, especially one of this nature.

I have had various health issues of my own that required 5 neurosurgeries, so I was only able to work part time and was the only parent able to care for Aaron.  I have not been at my present job long enough to have many financial options. Unless I can find help in the community, there is a good chance I will lose the house, and I cannot let this happen.  As I see it, Aaron’s healing requires a stable home environment and the continued practice of his Catholic faith. I have worked hard to give my boys a firm grounding in their religion—something my estranged wife tried to undermine.  The chaos of losing a home would jeopardize much that I have already built, including my sons’ faith.

I am seeking your support so that I can buy out my wife’s interest in the home and get a new mortgage in my name.  Any funds you provide will be used to 1.) keep our family home (the only home the boys have ever known) and 2.) make follow-up visits to MD Anderson Hospital in Houston, TX as part of Aaron’s brain tumor treatments. I am also looking into establishing a trust for Aaron.

Perhaps more important than the funds is the  fact that there are people out there who care, really care, about a boy who is lucky to be alive and is at risk of failing to thrive because of his mother’s departure with her new partner. None of us can take that pain away, but your actions will mean a lot to Aaron, to Carson, and to me.

Thank you for reading and for making a donation of whatever you can to help.

Sincerely,

Paul Jablonski
