<div>Hello and thank you for coming to our <strong><em>GoFundMe</em></strong> page. My name is Aaron Hicklen and my wife is Pamela Jenkins-Hicklen. I was born and raised in Charlotte NC and Pamela is from Brooklyn NY. In May of 2025, I was diagnosed with an aggressive type of prostate cancer. Thus, this devastating news changed our lives overnight.

<div>Since our retirement in 2020, we have lived on a fixed income, supplementing it with our savings and working part-time at The Spectrum Center and Bank of America Stadium, both located in Charlotte, NC, as Guest Services Representatives.

<div>The debilitating side effects of the radiation treatment is chronic fatigue, which has rendered me unable to work at this time. Pamela is caring for me full time, thus not able to work as much herself.
</div>

</div>
<div>Our medical bills are mounting, and the cost of cancer medications is a daunting challenge. We received some assistance for my Cancer Medicine, yet, it only covers a portion of my treatment. Faced with these significant cancer expenses in the months ahead, we are at an impasse.
</div>

<div>In addition, I am battling severe sleep apnea. We incurred the unexpected expense of a C-PAP machine. Also, my doctors have advised a Mediterranean diet to supplement my treatment, which is more expensive to follow.
</div>

<div>Although hoping for the best, if I am unable to beat this Cancer, knowing that these funds donated to this  <strong><em>GoFundMe</em></strong> page, it will help reduce some of our stress, during these challenging times.

<div>Pamela and I have always led a busy life. I was a Flight Attendant with US Airways and Pamela worked for the airline industry for over 24 years.  We also volunteer for community building projects when needed. The most difficult part of this journey has been the uncertainty about how this cancer will affect our ability to continue to meet our daily, weekly and monthly expenses.

<div>Our family and friends have been incredibly supportive, providing financial help, food and emotional support, and we are very grateful for them.

<div><strong><em>We have hesitated to ask for financial help until now. However, we are now at a crossroad of surviving or completely being devastated. </em></strong>
