Today we scramble to save the life of my son.
Austin was a lively and outgoing little boy and now he's in for the fight of his life...
We fight the cancer through treatments and a ton of visits to the doctors office and blood draws. It's mentally and physically exhausting.
Austin was diagnosised with Advanced Papillary Thyroid Cancer at the age of 11 on May 13, 2014. The cancer had spread to over 43 lymph nodes, 3 parathyroid glands and to both lungs.
Instead of playing sports, he is now sitting on the sidelines watching sports due to his current medical status.
Austins medical status is much more than cancer, as if that isn't enough. Austin has settled into a depression and has developed severe anxiety. He is no longer the happy child he once was. He is angry at the world. Austin has attempted suicide twice due to his depressed state. He is giving up on life and living despite how we push him to continue fighting and to beat this.
I am asking all of our friends and family for help.. And to please spread the word.. to friends and friends of friends, co-workers, and other family members to help raise the money for Austin's treatments, necessary funds for travel, food and any other expenses we run into along the way, including a moment of happiness for Austin.
