In 2020, viert AAC Rugby Club dat het 90 jaar lang niet weg te denken is uit het hart van Amsterdam. volledig draaiend op vrijwilligers is dit voor ons een onwijze mijlpaal.
Momenteel hebben wij twee diverse en internationale mannen- en vrouwenteams, en een ambitieuze jeugd.
Door de corona crisis, de anderhalve meter maatregel, het tijdelijk sluiten van ons clubhuis en het niet kunnen beoefenen van onze sport, hebben wij veel geplande wedstrijden en evenementen moeten annuleren. Zo ook ons geliefde en internationale Amsterdam 7’s toernooi, wat dit jaar zijn 50 jarig jubileum heeft.
Onze spelers kit heeft het zwaar te verduren en slijt hierdoor erg snel. Zo waren wij van plan om deze zomer een welverdiende nieuwe spelers kit voor onze mannen en vrouwen teams aan te schaffen. Dit met hulp van onze club, onze supporters en onze fantastische sponsoren. De corona pandemie heeft helaas ook bij hen een dermate grote impact gehad dat de financiële steun niet meer toereikend is.
Daarom doen we via deze weg een beroep aan alle leden, familie, vrienden, supporters en de rugby gemeenschap om via deze GoFundMe-pagina om te doneren aan onze door vrijwilligers geleide fantastische rugby club.
Ook zijn wij opzoek naar nieuwe sponsoren die de zichtbaarheid van hun bedrijf willen vergroten met hun logo op ons wedstrijdshirt, zichtbaarheid op onze club OF via onze website of social media kanalen. This year, AAC Rugby Club will have been at the heart of the Amsterdam community for 90 years. Led purely by dedicated volunteers, this is truly a huge milestone for us!
We are currently home to two diverse and international men's and women's teams, and a thriving youth section.
As a result of COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing restrictions, temporary closure of our clubhouse and stoppage of our sport, we have had to cancel all remaining fixtures and a number of important fund raising events, such as our beloved, international Amsterdam 7s tournament which is also coming into it's 50th year.
Our playing kit and equipment gets a lot of use, and therefore ages quickly. We had planned to use some club funds and the support of some of our fantastic sponsors to upgrade our playing kits for our mens and women’s teams this summer. Of course, this pandemic also has an impact on them, so that's not possible anymore.
We are appealing to members, family, friends, supporters and the rugby community to donate to our volunteer led club through this GoFundMe page.
We are also searching for new sponsors who want to elevate the profile of their businesses by appearing on our playing kits, at our club, on our website and social media pages. Customisable packages are available from €250 - €3000, for more details please contact us through this page.
