**About Anuschka Wright -- SHARE IN HER STORY**
For those getting to know me - I am Anuschka Wright, a 24 year old Jazz Vocalist from The Bahamas. In short, the purpose of this campaign is to raise funds for my education. That is, the combined costs of tuition, housing, food, books and other expenses while I pursue my dreams in music.

First, thank you for considering my cause ( I am so grateful for this platform provided by www.GoFundMe.com/aaawright) I truly feel that music is not only my passion but my purpose and I hope to impact the world positively through the power of my voice and my music.

My story, is one filled with many inspired and "coincidental" events. Although I've always been known as a "singer" growing up, I'd never considered pursuing it as a career option. I'm sure many people in the arts have heard things like "Wow, you're really good at (insert artistic ability here) you could make some money doing that on the side." Or "... so what's your real job?" In any case, music became a "real job" for me at a time when I needed it most.

After graduating high school I entered college to pursue my first dream of becoming a surgeon. But as life so goes... I was only able to complete my first year at my local college due to money issues. The recession had hit the Bahamas and my family felt it; my mother, the head of our household, eventually becoming unemployed along with many others. So now all of a sudden we found ourselves in a situation with no income. Everything was put on hold and I still can't tell you how we survived, but needless to say my college ambitions were set aside.

And here comes the light at the end of the tunnel. Almost exactly a year after my mom lost her job I got two! Yes, two full time jobs. One working in a bank and one singing nights with the top Jazz band in the country. Suddenly, I was able to help support my family and even set aside a personal savings for myself. It was a miracle!

But the real miracle was what I discovered while I worked
. Music began to unfold before me. Not as a hobby, or something "on the side" but as a viable option. Still, as that option unfolded I sought to give my first dream a chance. So I persisted and through my personal savings, a government grant and family support I completed one year of university abroad. But it didn't take me long to figure out that medicine wasn't where my heart was. I felt out of place in the program. And so that's when I made the decision to really burn all bridges and put all I had into pursuing music; I just couldn't imagine my life without it.
And I haven't regretted a day since!

Things began to spiral after that decision. I've had blessing after blessing, wonder after wonder. My last wonderful blessing came through the success of my first personal project. This past spring I debuted myself as an artist in a self produced concert titled "Jazz In Bloom." The response was outstanding! There was so much love, support and positivity shown to me throughout the entire process that I can't begin to explain the joy I felt afterwards.

And so through the concert and generous donations from family, friends and supporters I was able to begin my studies at Concordia University in Montréal, Canada, studying (finally) what I really want to. I can't explain the happiness I feel right now; living in a continual state of gratitude. Everyday I see nothing but reasons to love my life and to continue walking in faith. I fully believe that all that I am learning now formally will help to greatly improve the talent God has blessed me with. I'm excited to be able to share my art with my audience with a more refined sense of ability and an even deeper musical connectivity.

In order to focus as On my studies however, I am no longer working and my mother relies solely on odd jobs and projects as her means of income. Knowing this, it was hard for me to leave for university, almost feeling like I would be abandoning my family. But I have their blessing. They believe in me and my dream and I am even more determined knowing the sacrifices they are making in order to give me the freedom to achieve my goals.

When it comes right down to it, I have no other choice but to make this work. I've tasted the pure bliss of being fulfilled and I can't imagine living my life any other way. I have faith that I will reap more benefits from my choice to pursue my passion than not; I've seen them already!

It is my hope that my story and journey would encourage other young, and not so young, people to step out and answer the call of their hearts - knowing that by seeking true self fulfillment they will inevitably become beacons of positive change and each a positive example to others.

And so I am in need of help. I need assistance, constant prayers and monetary blessings. Know that every donation I receive will be sincerely appreciated and used for the reason it was intended. Help me to reach another level in my journey. Help me in my pursuit of happiness and in fulfilling my life's purpose.

Thank you all again so much for your time, consideration and contribution.
