Hilfe für Lili, Helena und Sepp

Meine Tochter Lili ist 5 Jahre alt und hat die meiste Zeit ihres Lebens in Krankenhäusern und ständiger Therapie verbracht. Sie leidet am Shwachman-Diamond-Syndrom, einer sehr seltenen Erkrankung (1:75.000), die unsere Familie seit Jahren, vor allem durch schwere Krankheitsverläufe, Sorge und Ungewissheit, stark belastet. Das Syndrom ist bisher unheilbar und kann tödlich verlaufen.

Lilis medizinische und gesundheitliche Situation spitzt sich momentan dramatisch zu. Nach 2 Schlaganfällen im letzten Jahr lernt Lili das Laufen wieder neu und braucht jetzt akut eine Lebertransplantation gefolgt von einer Stammzelltransplantation, die entweder meine Frau oder ich spenden werden. Beides sind lebensbedrohliche Eingriffe.

Während ein Elternteil Spender sein wird, und sich von diesem schweren Eingriff mehrere Monate erholen muss, ist der andere Elternteil mit der Pflege und Versorgung von Lili beschäftigt.

Die kommenden 1 bis 3 Jahre werden wir entweder im Krankenhaus verbringen oder sehr engmaschig an die Klinik angebunden sein. Deswegen werden wir beide vorerst nicht arbeiten und Geld verdienen können. Unsere laufenden Kosten müssen trotzdem bewältigt werden.

Meine Firma habe ich bereits verkauft, um für meine Familie da sein zu können und um ein finanzielles Polster für die bevorstehende Zeit zu schaffen.

Ein Entgegenkommen meines Vermieters, den bestehenden Mietvertrag meiner Firma außerordentlich zu kündigen, besteht nicht. Somit muss ich noch ein volles Jahr Miete bezahlen, obwohl die Räume nicht mehr genutzt werden.

Für Selbstständige wie mich gibt es in solchen Situation leider keine soziale Absicherung.

Wir als Eltern tun alles Erdenkliche, um der der Situation gerecht zu werden, aber ohne Hilfe schaffen wir es nicht.

My daughter Lili is 5 years old and has spent most of her life in hospitals and constant therapy. She suffers from Shwachman-Diamond syndrome, a very rare disease (1:75,000) that has placed a heavy burden on our family for years, mainly due to severe disease progression, worry and uncertainty. The syndrome is as yet incurable and can be fatal.

Lili's medical and health situation is coming to a dramatic peak at the moment. After 2 strokes in the last year, Lili is relearning how to walk and now acutely needs a liver transplant followed by a stem cell transplant, which either my wife or I will donate. Both are life-threatening procedures.

While one parent will be a donor and will have to recover from this serious procedure for several months, the other parent will be busy caring and nurturing Lili.

For the next 1 to 3 years, we will either spend time in the hospital or be very closely attached to the clinic. Therefore, both of us will not be able to work and earn money for the time being. Our running costs will still have to be managed.

I have already sold my company in order to be able to be there for my family and to create a financial cushion for the upcoming time.

There is no concession from my landlord to extraordinarily terminate the existing lease of my company. So I still have to pay rent for a full year, even though the premises are no longer being used.

Unfortunately, there is no social security for self-employed people like me in such situations.

We as parents are doing everything possible to cope with the situation, but we can't do it without help.
