Luca's Medical Fund

On January 26, 2017, Sierra and husband Stephen headed to the hospital after Sierra began experiencing pre-term labor symptoms. Her pregnancy was very normal up until this point, baby boy was on his way much earlier than expected.
Luca Ray was born on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at 4:41 pm. His arrival was a surprise at 8 weeks early. Just hours after being born Luca was transported by ambulance to the nearby children’s hospital where he underwent surgery on his intestines after initial evaluations showed a distended stomach. The surgeon found perforations in his intestinal tract that is believed to have spontaneously happened in utero.
Luca underwent a second surgery on his intestines in the beginning of April. Despite having a large amount of intestines on the upper half and a small amount on the lower half, his surgeon was able to reconstruct his digestive tract and remove the blockages that prevented Luca from being able to eat for the first 11 weeks of his life.
Luca has been through many tests and procedures between his birth and today. The hospital is where he sleeps and spends his days. Stephen and Sierra (dad and mom) have been by their son's side every step of the way. They have taken time off of work when possible to support Luca through this incredibly tough journey. They are amazing parents and will do anything to support their son and get him home.
I am starting this fund for Stephen and Sierra to help them cover the medical costs for Luca. Living in a hospital is very expensive and Luca's ambulance ride, medical tests, surgeries, and nutrition are all part of the costs Stephen and Sierra need to cover. Bills are starting to come in and they need our help!!
When I met Sierra 6 years ago she immediately became one of my best friends. She is the sweetest person I've ever met and would do anything for her friends and family. When she met Stephen it was like their relationship was out of a fairy tale. They share so much love, happiness, and laughter together you can't help but feel their love when you are with them. They wanted nothing more than to share their love with others and to be parents.
Now that they are parents to our little Luca warrior I am hoping you will consider donating to their medical fund to help relieve the stress of the bills so that they can focus on getting Luca healthy so he can come home. No donation is too small and I can guarantee they will be so thankful for any amount that helps cover Luca's medical bills.
