Welcome to my fundraising page! My name is Morgan Stroud and I have been working hard for several months to secure a spot in Newburgh Free Academy’s global service learning program, Global to Local. The awesome news is that I was one of only nine students selected from many applicants to participate in the 2019 cohort and will be traveling to Uganda this summer for ten days of volunteer work supporting teachers with limited resources, while also learning about how community change-makers work for positive social change.
In order to make this trip a possibility, I need to fundraise for a portion of the costs of the trip. I am asking for your support in this endeavor. By supporting my travels, not only are you helping me to learn about the world and build my leadership skills, but you are also directly supporting the volunteer work that I will engage in -by just donating some funds, you can help people across the world AND in Newburgh. When I return from Uganda, I will be spending my senior year working on a local community impact project in Newburgh.
I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your support in helping me accomplish this amazing goal. You can follow my journey and read about our trip by visiting our webpage: www.globaltolocal.net. On the site, my classmates and I will write articles before the trip reflecting on what we are learning about Ugandan culture, as well as post updates the entire time we are abroad.
Thank you again for considering supporting my cause. Together we can try to make the world a kinder, more just place.
