<div>I don’t even have the words to know where to start writing this. My dad was and always will be my best friend. I don’t even know how to navigate a world without him in it.

<div>At this time, I don’t have a lot of details. From what we know, my dad passed peacefully in his sleep. They will be doing an exam and as soon as there are more details to share I will. This was incredibly unexpected and I’m his oldest child trying to navigate the hardest situation of my life so I’m just doing my best.

<div>As anyone who knows my dad knows, he was always there for the people he cared about - and there were many. More than I can probably ever even begin to imagine. His support was unwavering and he truly loved unconditionally. He cared so deeply for so many people and all of the different communities he was a part of.

<div>I’ve always told people that I want to be like my dad when I grow up. Not only has he always been larger than life, but he has always been so loved. He really could light up any room he walked into and make you laugh no matter what. I have always aspired to be part of the kind of community my dad made and was a part of.

<div>Sadly, nothing is free. With such an unexpected death there comes a lot of unexpected costs and very quickly, without much consideration for the grieving process. The funds from this will go towards covering the rent for his shop and motor home so my little brother and I have time to sort through his belongings and follow his final wishes. They will also help cover cremation costs and any other end of life services. Additionally, they will help cover a celebration of life - which I will also let everyone know about as soon as I can. We all know my dad didn’t like funerals, so there’s going to have to be a celebration with a lot of colors instead ❤️
