Love Your Neighbor

Hi friends. Lisa Schultz here from the DC area.  Almost two years ago I had the privilege of becoming friends with a Syrian refugee family named the Mustafa's. They have become wonderful friends and have spent the last 2 years trying to learn English, learning to drive, getting jobs, etc. Right now the family has employment for 3 days a week 8 hours a day with a minimum wage salary. They are hard working, capable people but it hard to live in the DC area on such a low income. Currently they rent an apartment that has 2 small bedrooms. Last week when I went to visit the family, I learned that they have bed bugs. Not only do they have bed bugs, they have an infestation. Of course the family had little $ so they couldn't afford an exterminator or to even throw out their mattresses. (which were given to them in used condition) I couldn't leave their home without knowing that I had to help. (and they didn't even ask for help--they never do!) It costs 1000 dollars to exterminate the apartment (thank goodness we know a great exterminator in the area) and they will need all new furniture to sleep on. I'm planning to have their apartment sprayed tomorrow (9/18) and then send them all new mattresses etc through Amazon asap. The Mustafa family has 3 young children who are waking up all night because of these bug bites. They have already thrown out their beds and the kids have been sleeping on the mattresses on the floor. Please help me provide for them. All of the money will go to my husband, Tim Schultz's bank account and we will buy everything from Amazon. This is the list of what I plan to buy with all of the costs included.
