My little, sweet nephew, JJ Boyer will be 4 years old right before Christmas this year. He lives in Indianapolis, IN with his parents, Jeremy and Anahi and his big sister Brissa. JJ loves to be outside, whether it’s running, riding his bike on walks w/Mom & Dad or just playing in the yard on his swing set. He also loves to sing along with his favorite songs, play anything related to numbers and letters and loves trains.
JJ was diagnosed on October 6, 2020 with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). JJ was immediately admitted to the reputable Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis, IN where he immediately began his treatment.
· His intense 29-day treatment (called the induction phase) will keep him in the hospital until Nov 6.
· The induction phase includes a combination of medicines, including chemotherapy, over the course of 29 days.
· Following the induction phase, we expect chemo treatments for JJ over the next 2 years before he can be considered cured of the disease.
JJ is amazingly resilient and is reacting positively to the treatment which is a relief to all of us who love and adore this happy little guy. The hope is that treatments post induction phase will be outpatient, with potentially some days where he’ll have to stay in the hospital overnight. We are confident JJ will win the battle against ALL, but the road ahead is long, challenging one. The support received through this campaign will undoubtedly help make the journey tolerable.
This will be an overwhelming expense for my family. Due to JJ’s illness, my brother will be on an indefinite unpaid family medical leave since he is required to be overseas 60% of the time (away for 6 weeks at a time). My hope is raising some funds will relieve some of the financial pressure for my brother and sister in law so they can focus on JJ’s care.

· Living expenses while my brother is on unpaid medical leave.
