Destination Imagination Globals

Destination Imagination, Inc. is a leading educational nonprofit dedicated to teaching students the skills needed to succeed in school, their careers and beyond. They develop project-based learning programs that blend STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education with the arts and social entrepreneurship.

Through their programs, students use the creative process to turn their ideas into reality and learn invaluable skills through the process including:

Each year, Destination Imagination works with educators and industry experts to develop seven, new academic Challenges in the fields of STEM, the arts, social entrepreneurship and early learning (Rising Stars!). Students work in teams to research, design and build a solution to their preferred Challenge. In solving a Challenge, they learn the creative process—a powerful learning tool that helps students assess problems, reflect on their progress, learn from failure and turn their original ideas into reality. Students who participate in the Challenge Program have the opportunity to present their solutions at a local tournament and if they qualify at the state level, they’re invited to participate in Global Finals, our culminating international tournament that celebrates student creativity. It is here that our team, Mayhem Like Us needs your help.



The challenge that Mayhem Like Us chose was Improvisational:Treasure. What they had to do is:

Research different cultures and famous explorers.
Create and present an improvisational skit about a quest to return a lost cultural treasure to its owner.
Integrate two explorers and a prop into the quest.
Show how characters work together to overcome a setback.

They are given their explorers, treasure, and scene by the appraisers, or judges. Then, they have 2 minutes to develop a skit with all of these components. After the 2 minutes is up, they then have 5 minutes to present their skit along with a setback that the team must over come. 

Our team placed first at the Milwaukee Regional competition. They then went onto the Wisconsin State competition where they placed third and are now PROUD TO REPRESENT WISCONSIN IN THE GLOBAL FINALS IN KNOXVILLE, TN!!!!!!



The Global Finals includes teams from 45 states and 14 countries. This is the opportunity of a lifetime for these boys.

The venue they are competing in is an academic Olympics and we want to give them the opportunity to bring home the GOLD to Wisconsin. They compete May 23-26, 2018.

We are looking to raise $5,000.00 by May 1, 2018 to help offset costs for the families. Some of the costs will be covered by the boys school district, such as entrance fees. However, lodging, transportation and food are on the families. We will be traveling from Milwaukee, WI to Knoxville, TN.
