My name is Eric and I’m a tattoo artist in Hecker, Illinois. I offer tattoo services to survivors of amputation and cancer to make them feel whole again and with your help, I can do this for free.  From 2010-2015, I participated in an event where I gave out free, little pink ribbon tattoos for the first week in October in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness. Through that, I connected with a ton of survivors who asked me if I could do other tattooing for them (including areolas) and I knew I wanted to help.  Of course I said yes but I would feel terrible charging the people who have already suffered pain and injury or battling life and death. They've already been through so much. So, I just flat out refuse to make these survivors pay to receive my services, I cannot do it. This type of tattoo would be approximately $250-300 somewhere else, but with your help, I am able to provide my services to these survivors for free. I host Wellness Wednesdays where I focus solely on tattoos for survivors and have serviced over 300 so far.  Lately, the vast amount of people needing my free services is expanding by the day.  It’s becoming much harder to manage and balance all of the requests. I'm stuck in a controversial internal battle between ignoring massive amounts of messages from others who need my help and making a living.  What this GoFundMe campaign will allow me to do is provide "angel" donations to cover the costs of the tattooing services. Ultimately, this will allow me to help more and more people while still being able to support myself and provide for my family.  My goal here is to not only show these survivors some humanity with my free work, but also to be the final chapter to a long cancer journey or amputee story for them. A lot of women come in and have documented their entire journey from start to finish and they all say I am the end of the road. They can finally feel complete.You can’t beat hearing those words.
