In Loving Memory Of Pierre H. Cotnoir

Donation protected
This page is being created out of great love and desperation for my Uncle Pierre who suddenly became very ill upon returning home from visiting family in Florida. On Thursday June 5th 2014 he was rushed by ambulance to CMMC in Lewiston Maine where he was almost instantly put on life support for organ failure. While surrounded by his loving family who were praying for a miracle, he was given his only chance of survival and Life Flighted to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he is and will remain in minute by minute critical condition and on life support while hooked up to a machine called ECMO that provides both cardiac and respiratory support oxygen to him because, his heart and lungs are severly diseased and cannot function. Here is where he will remain until his body and organs are clear of infection and disease, and become strong enough to work on their own. Or until his body and organs decide they are too weak to continue this process. Which either way the doctors say could take several months. Also If the process was to work and organs were able to function again, they are unsure of brain damage and recovery time. They just say it would be a very very long road. We are praying for a miracle and hoping for the best possible outcome. Of course at this point we are very unsure of anything that may happen but regardless since that very first moment when he became ill and from here forward my Aunt Susie (his wife) has been and will be by his side. Along with my mother (My Uncle's sister and Susie's best friend of 40 years) Of course they are only able to stay in his room for short periods of time due to the severe nature of the situation and process. Doing what they can to stay close by, they sleep in shifts in a chair in the waiting room and eat out of the cafeteria when they have an appetite. The two of them down in Boston alone supporting one another and staying strong while we support from surrounding states and try to tend to theirs and our own everyday business. Its very tough knowing that they cannot get a hotel room for a good night sleep and a shower under $500.00 a night or go to a grocery store to get food because they are in Boston and there are none around. This especially scares me knowing my mother is diabetic and will always put others needs before hers. We have no family or friends around the hospital or in Massachusetts at all. I cannot even begin to think about what the cost will be for my Aunt's medical bills as she has no insurance for neither my uncle or herself. They have worked their entire lives running their own business which helps others, and now I cant even think of or let my aunt think of losing it over something like medical bills. That shouldnt have to be on her mind right now, it should be her husband and his well being.
Please understand that iam not doing this just because this man is my uncle. Iam doing this because I couldnt imagine living one day without this man, a man who is selfless, strong, smart and caring to say the least. A man who since I was born has been like a dad to me and taught me many valuable things during our time spent together. A wonderful man who I love very much and am thinking of and praying for everyday.

From the very bottom of my heart, Please HELP My Uncle rest easy & My Aunt & Mom to stay close to him through all of it.
DONATE what you can & PRAY for recovery

*More thanks than words can express*
