On Sunday October 29th, 2017 we lost our beloved friend, sister, daughter, auntie and significant other, Chelsee Genevieve Gould. Chelsee was an amazing woman, with one of the biggest hearts you could ever imagine. Two of the things that she loved in her life were children, especially her eight nieces and nephews, and making other people look their best in her career as a Cosmetologist. Where these two areas of passion intersect, we would like to help her soul continue its path for children who are in need of help through the Wigs for Kids organization.
Wigs for Kids provides Hair Replacement Systems and support for children who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy, radiation therapy, Alopecia, Trichotillomania, burns and other medical issues at no cost to children or their families.
The effects of hair loss go deeper than just a change in a child’s outward appearance. Hair loss can erode a child’s self-confidence and limit them from experiencing life the way children should. With an injured self-image, their attitude toward treatment and their physical response to it can be negatively impacted. Wigs for Kids helps children suffering from hair loss to feel and look the way they want to. To live their lives. To be themselves.
Our goal is to raise enough to provide two children with the funds needed to cover their full cost. Please consider a donation if you feel inclined, so that we may memorialize Chelsee in a way that will positively impact the lives of children in need of a confidence boost - and to help her spirit thrive in the selfless gestures that she showed to so many who had the privilege of knowing her.
May we all be able to cherish and carry forward the love and compassion that Chelsee brought to this world, and her positive impact in the lives of each and every person with whom she came into contact - helping her memory to flourish. Until one day we meet again.
