Karen Schulze

On June 3 2014 John Schulze awoke to his wife Karen lying unresponsive in their living room, although she was breathing she was not able to communicate with him. Karen was rushed to the hospital and after some testing was immediately admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. The test had shown that Karen had an uncommon form of bacterial meningitis, along with pneumonia which the doctors would be treating aggressively with antibiotics. Today the Schulze family was told that scans have shown that Karen has potentially suffered “small scattered strokes”, and for the first time her husband John has heard “if she wakes up, instead of when she wakes up”.

For those that have not had the pleasure of knowing Karen Schulze she is one of the most loving and caring women that you could possibly know. She is the type neighbor and friend most of us only wish we could have. Karen would go through great lengths to do what she can for you, and if she is not able she would find someone that could. Most of you can understand that we cannot possibly prepare financially for circumstances such as these, and the financial burden can add to the already tremendous amount of stress that the Schulze family is facing. Our small community of Orfordville has already shown this wonderful family so much overwhelming support by making meals, helping with yard work, as well as lending that ear and attention that the family needs.
