Danielle's medical bills

For those of you that know my sister Danielle Comforti, you know what an amazing person she is and how kind hearted she has always been. She is the type of person who would give you the shirt off her back; she is always finding ways to help others and make people feel good about themselves. Not to mention, she saves lives daily as a Registered Nurse in the emergency room.

Unfortunately Danielle had a rough 2017. She lost 3 dogs whom were her babies all within a very short time frame and on December 9th while her and her fiancé Scott Olsen were out of town, they received news that Scotts dad had suffered a stroke requiring immediate surgery to dissolve a clot that traveled to his brain. 2 days later, they learned that Scott’s father had unknown Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer which was most likely the cause for the blot clots he had. They gave her soon to be father-in-law an estimated 3-6months to live. Unfortunately it was a lot sooner than that.. Scotts dad passed away peacefully at home with family on January 5th 2018.

Danielle and Scott are both graduates of Ygnacio Valley High School and Danielle’s name happens to be up in the gym for ‘Athlete of the Year’. Scott and Danielle are high school sweethearts and have been together for 12 years; they are finally getting married this summer. As happy as they are for that day to come, it will also be extremely sad because Scotts father will unfortunately not be there to see them get married.

On January 13th, funeral services were held for her father-in-law. All of Scotts siblings and their children were in town, so to lighten the mood they all decided to go to Sky High (a trampoline park) that night. As I previously said, Danielle is an athlete and has good coordination but unfortunately freak accidents occur and it just so happens that while Danielle was doing a front flip on one of the trampolines, she landed on the back of her head and neck causing her to obtain an L1 compression fracture in her spine. She is currently at a hospital on a trauma unit and will need surgery to stabilize her fractured spine. Fortunately she has no neuro deficits! But she is in for a very long recovery process with a lot of pain.

As I mentioned, Danielle works as a nurse in the ER and has been saving as much money as she can for her wedding this summer. With the event that occurred I am personally asking for help because I know Danielle would never ask herself and she will most likely be mad at me for making this but I want to try and help with as many medical bills as possible. Between the costs of ambulance rides, medications, hospital stay, surgery, future doctors appts, etc., the bills are really starting to add up. Any little bit helps and is greatly appreciated by myself and our family! Spread the word and spread the love ❤️
