Hi Friends & Family!!!
My colleagues and I from the MGH IHP will be heading down to La Romana, Dominican Republic in early January 2018 for a week long medical mission serving the impoverished families in the sugar cane villages.
In addition to the harsh conditions in the bateyes, the families there also lack access to basic healthcare, adequate water and sanitation. This puts them at a risk for a plethora of often preventable diseases.
During our time there we will be providing healthcare to about 150-200 children and adults per day and are currently in need of medical supplies and medication. Some of these medical supplies include Ace bandages, gauze, and over the counter medications such as ibuprofen and multivitamins.
It means a lot to us that you are taking your time to read this and to consider donating to our mission. The money we raise here will be used strictly for medical supplies and medications for the trip.
Although we will only be there for a week, we hope tomake a lasting difference in the lives of the families of La Romana.
