Help Jessica and Lance Go to Haiti

As many of you know, on January 12, 2010, an earthquake measuring 7.0 magnitude on the Richter scale devastated the capital of Haiti. More than 230,000 people were killed. A vast number were injured in the earthquake, and many more were sickened by cholera and other diseases that spread in the months following.
We (Lance and Jessica) know that we were not alone in our immediate desire to find a way to comfort them -- to somehow ease their suffering. In the following months, many prayers were lifted up and much money was sent to aid the Haitians in their recovery.

Today, the conditions in Haiti remain woeful. In fact, long before the 2010 disaster, Haiti was labeled the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and third poorest country in the world. More than two-thirds of the population is unemployed.
The country has a population of over 9 million people with a scant 3% of residents reaching 65 years or older. An astounding 37% of Haitians are under 14 years of age, and over 400,000 children have no parents.
These few heartwrenching facts alone are enough to move anyone to send up a prayer for Haiti. But we would like to ask you to be a part of something more...
We have been invited to go with a group from Wiregrass Church to Camp Marie, Haiti, in September. It is our mission to simply walk alongside the residents of this unfortunate area and serve their needs for a week.
It is not a long time, and we are only ordinary people, but we believe that the extraordinary love of Christ will go with us. It is only His love that can bring the healing, comfort and hope that is so desperately needed.
Would you please consider donating to our trip? The flight and accomodations total $1,850 per person. Other expenses include passports and vaccinations.
We are both absolutely thrilled to have this opportunity to GO and SERVE. We have been told there will be a lot of children's ministry involved, and you all know how much we love to work with kids...
We hope to have them dancing by the time we leave!
