Trip to Cambodia

As many of you know, I have spent my entire professional career working with individuals who have experienced severe trauma due to natural disasters, sex trafficking, physical, sexual and emotional abuse and domestic violence.  I have studied how trauma affects our bodies, our ability to breathe and our ability to keep our body at “ease” and thereby reduce the chance of “disease.”  In addition, I have been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Trauma Therapy for Adults and Adolescents.

Recently, I have been blessed with an amazing opportunity to join Stacy Sims, founder of the True Body Project, City Silence and Mindful Music Moments in January to travel to Cambodia to work with therapists, yoga instructors and teachers on the impact of trauma on the body.

Cambodia is known for the extreme trauma that the people have endured under the regime of Khmer Rouge.   An estimated two million Cambodians died in genocide. Other’s died from execution, disease, starvation and overwork.  The impact of trauma and the lack of trauma-focused treatment has affected all generations.

I am asking for help to finance part of the trip.  In return, I would love to offer speaking engagements on the topic of trauma and the lessons learned in Cambodia.  Any donation will help and I can’t even begin to tell you how much I appreciate it.  Thank you very much!

Blessings,
Kerry
