Donation protected
J, my son of 40, suffered a stroke.

August 27 Wednesday is midway into this week and feels like a million miles travelled since April 11th when this journey started.
I want to share that J is doing his therapy daily.....speech - walking - moving on his own and each day I see little increased ease of both. It is not fast and certainly much harder than we ever dreamed. The frustrations are always there. Why can't I get that word into the sentence, when will I be able to walk better and easily, why why why. but the being here and with us at home is soooo much better than the drive to Houston or visit to a hospital. We are blessed in this.

Thank you each and everyone for the love and care you have sent to us. We have shared this his journey in word and hope you never have to walk the path that we have seen this year.

Prayers from gayle mom and Tara wife

July 3rd for the July 4th weekend, we are happy to report that J will be spending part of this weekend with us, at home being as close to recovery as he can and doing those familiar and well loved things we all do for the July 4th Holiday.  We sincerely thank each of you and pray your Fourth is blessed with good health, fair skies and lots of love, time and sharing with family. From us to you all.

Recovery --
the word that sounds so condensed and complete but has so many connotations. Recovery is slow and difficult and time consuming and frustrating because it can seem to Run like the wind or just Float slowly like a leaf in a quiet stream. We think a cold and maybe 2 weeks is slow, but take a stroke,, the time it takes to retrain the muscles in your leg or arm or throat and reconnect to pathways in our brain, can take months, while using the rehabilation techniques repeat repeat and repeat yet again.  IT can be so depressing you see nothing for days then EUREKA  a little wiggle.

This Day is day 69 or 70 in J's recovery. Have you kept at a regime that long? Exercise or diet or both, one on top of the other??

This is how J's day goes.... everyday since April 11th.

Physical Therapy Occupational Therapy Speech Therapy
then we start it all again.
prayers my son is able to regain His world.

This was out of the BLUE. This event has been our total focus and vision since April 11th. We were just getting ready to be excited and joyful with a second long awaited child's arrival this fall, when the stroke changed all our lives. We have asked and received prayers by our family and friends and FB people. We appreciate and thank all of those people. So many have asked how may we help? If you would like to do that here, we would be eternally grateful as the Recovery from stroke is long, slow and evolving each and every day.
