Misty's Haiti Bound

As you know, Haiti has numerous challenges. Since the earthquake in 2010, those challenges have grown considerably. Last year, I was scheduled to go help establish a school, but for some reason God closed that door. This year He opened it wide. My local church, Outlook Christian Church, will be sending a team this October to Haitian Christian Outreach for a week. I am humbled to be part of this team.

Here are some things that are tentatively scheduled for this trip: working behind the scenes in a hospital, possibly working at an orphanage, and construction work. However, that is man’s agenda and I am sure I will get the opportunity to do some of this, but what excites me most is to see what God has planned. I know it will be life altering in some way! The challenging part of this trip, as with most trips, is the actual financial cost incurred. My cost will be roughly $2200. As a public school teacher and single mom, satan tries to use this number to stop me in my tracks. It almost worked because, to be honest, I am very uncomfortable asking for financial help. However, our team leader encouraged us to not underestimate God and to allow others the opportunity to participate in this endeavor with God and me. So, here I am and that is where you become involved
