Kerala Rescue Fund

The heavy rains in Kerala-India have rendered about 700,000 homeless and 324 dead.   The School of Social Work at the University of Maryland  and the Rajagiri School of Social Work based in Kerala-India, have been longstanding partners.

Rajagiri has turned into a rescue camp and now is providing food and shelter to approximately 1500 people. There are 11 of our SSW  students in Kerala, working around the clock to support Rajagiri's efforts.

The need is great.  We will need the funds within a few days in order to help them provide, drinking water, diapers, underwear, sanitary napkins, clothes, blankets, mosquito repellent, and food.

The money will also be used to help the survivors once they have returned to their homes. They will need basic supplies to get set up once they return.

We will be deeply grateful for your contributions and for any help you can provide. Remember ANY dollar counts.

Any funds raised will be identified as a contribution from the University of Maryland, School of Social Work students, alumni, and friends.
